Ordering your token

Business Online operators

The roll-out of 2 Factor Authentication to our Business Online clients will take place over a period of time. Operators will be prompted by the system to order their tokens at the relevant time.

New operators - an order for tokens will automatically be placed when your operator details are captured by Standard Bank.

On delivery, you will need to produce positive identification (passport, South African identity document or driver’s licence).

Your token may not be ordered or signed for by anyone other than yourself.

After we have received confirmation that your token has been delivered, a message will be displayed when you logon to Business Online requesting you to register your token. Please do so within 32 days to avoid being suspended from the system.

[**] Registering your token:

  1. Log on to Business Online.

  2. Enter your existing Operator ID and password.

  3. Enter the 10-digit token serial number (no spaces or dashes), which appears on the label on the back of the token.

  4. Press the grey token button once to switch the token on (ensuring that the button is on the left of the display), wait 2 seconds for the 6 digit numeric one-time password to be displayed. Enter this password in the One Time Password field.

  5. To generate a new one time password, wait for the token to automatically switch off, then follow the instructions in Step 4 again. Enter the new one-time password. The second one-time password must be different from the first one. Enter this password in the New One Time Password field.

  6. Click the "Register" button.


* Note: You can also retrieve the serial number from the token itself. Push the button once to switch on the token. BOL-001 will be displayed. Press the button again and hold it down until you see “Id” on the display. When you release the button, the screen will display dP, followed by the first two digits of your serial number. Press the button once more to view the remaining eight digits.
